Spain arrests man wanted for Casablanca bombing

MADRID (Reuters) - Civil guards in Spain's north African enclave of Melilla arrested a man on Tuesday wanted by Morocco over the 2003 Casablanca bombings that killed 32 people and 13 suicide bombers.

Acting on an international arrest warrant from Morocco,Spanish police detained Ali Aarass, who Morocco accuses ofbeing involved in the Casablanca blasts.

Police said they had seized documents from his home inMelilla.

Police said they had also detained Mohammed El Bay, whothey said was in charge of striking up links with CentralEuropean arms dealers on behalf of an Islamic militant group inMorocco which was broken up in February.

Moroccan authorities have broken up dozens of suspectedcells of religious militants in recent years and the country'sprisons now hold hundreds of Islamists.
