TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran's ambassador in Brussels has submitted Tehran's response to an incentives package offered by six world powers over the Islamic Republic's nuclear programme, the official news agency IRNA reported on Friday.
The agency quoted a senior source at Iran's SupremeNational Security Council as saying the response was presentedto European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran's response to Solana and the(six powers') foreign ministers was submitted to Solana byIran's ambassador to Brussels," IRNA quoted the source assaying.
The source said the response was signed by Iranian ForeignMinister Manouchehr Mottaki.
The offer of economic and other incentives proposed by thesix -- the United States, China, Russia, Germany, Britain andFrance -- was presented to Iran by Solana on June 14 to try tosettle a long-running dispute over Tehran's nuclear ambitions.
